OCULUS ****

OCULUS is a Quality flick , a Well done Thrill/Horror film with many layers , Which managed to rake in a cool 15 million Dollars in it's Opening Week , there are some bloody scenes , NOT suitable for young children , but not too gory , a Suspenceful movie with a Few Jump in your seat moments , the plot centers around a Family and a Possessed or Haunted Mirror , and is slightly confusing switching back and fourth between the present time  and ten years prior , the film tells a partial story of the 17th Century Mirror , a Mirror which has a life of it's own

The movie starts out Innocent enough , a Family , just moving into a home , the Father ALAN RUSSELL played by former C.S.I. MIAMI actor ( RORY COCHRANE) buys an old Antique Mirror to decorate his Den , it's not long before strangeness begins , the Mother  MARIE RUSSELL played by actress (KATEE SACKHOFF) first finds all her house plants are whithered and dying , then starts hearing voices , Illutions of the Mirror, their teenage Daughter KAYLEE RUSSELL is played by the young actress ANNALISE BASSSO figures out early on , the change in her Parents and the connection with the Mirror , the movie switches to Presnt day , the Parents dead ten years , her little Brother Instatutionalized with the Grown Ups thinking the young TIM RUSSELL played by young actor GARRETT RYAN responsible , is just being released from custody portrayed by actor BRENTON THWAITES , has put the horrors of his Parents deaths behind him (or so he thought) , forgetting what REALLY happened , finds his sister KAYLEE , now portrayed by Scottish actress KAREN GILLAN , most noted for playing AMELIA (AMY) POND  on the long running British series Doctor Who , has tracked down the Mirrror to an auction house , where she then finds employment there , the Mirror gets purchased , but she side tracks it , moving it back into the home in which her parents died , after doing much research on the history of the Mirror's past owners , all dying Extreamly strange deaths and determining that destruction of aid Mirror Impossable , sets up a series of timers and cameras , trying to document her theroy , however the mirror is many steps ahead of both her and her brother , best laid plans , Gang Aft Alay

WRITER/DIRECTOR : MIKE FLANAGAN , Works off Psychological Illussion , playing mind tricks on both the Principal Players as well as the Audience through out the film , until towards the end Both the Past and Present seem unclear , and though you might have figured out early on how it might end for one of the siblings , what happens to the other is a complete surprize

After watching this flick you may look diffrently at older mirrors , what secrets might they be hiding

I rate this flick a Definate Must see Whovian or not
