Embroidery on Egg Shells
Needed :
1 or more blown eggshells ( carefully pierce shell at both ends and blow contents into a bowl )
1 Bottle clear varnish ( use this to strengthen eggshell )
1 roofing Nail and Hammer ( if you can find ine you may use a old style drill ) in which case you will need a vice to carefully hold egg) remember they had NO power tools at the time
1 Pattern
1 or 2 Embroidery needles
1 Craft Brush ( for varnish )
Embroidery Floss and Ribbbon
Instructions :
Take your blown egg and carefully paint on the varnish , let dry then using your pattern and the Nail and Hammer , carefully using your Nail and Hammer tap holes into shell , now go to work using the stitches of your choice , only you know your pattern or design, so only you will know when project is finished
*Note : In the 19th and early 20th Centuries , such eggs were used as orniments on Christmas trees
