The Hobbit :The Battle of the Five Armies ****
This Third of the trilogy hobbit movies , connected with The Lord of The Ring movies, Directed by; Peter jackson and Written by Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens , with Soundtrack (The Last Goodbye) by Billy Boyd , Rated PG-13 (owing to violence) Genre; adventure/fantasy , Filmed on location in areas of New Zealand and at Pinewood Studios U.K., it's running time 2 hours and 24 minutes , with the end credits lasting about 10 of that , and viewed in IMax 3D
Peter Jackson takes cues from the Lord of the Rings to expand New Line Cinema's Hobbit adaptation , with this the third film compleating the epic tale of Bilbo Baggins ( as played by Martin Freeman) , the story opens to find the vengeful Dragon Smaug ( voiced by BBC's Benidict Cumberbatch) decimating the peaceful hamlet of Laketown , as Bilbo , Thorin ( Richard Armitage) and the rest of the Dwarfs lay claim to the Lonley Mountain , but celebration is short lived as Thorin grows obssesed with finding the Arkenstone , Meanwhile , Galadriel ( Cate Blanchett) Elrond (Hugo Weaving) and Saruman (Christopher Lee) battle the Nazgul in an attempt to free the Wizard Gandelf (Ian McKellen) , and get some unexpected help from eccentric Wizard Radagast ( played by Scottish actor Sylvestor McCoy of Dr.Who fame ), unfortunately for all involved , the struggle has only just begun , as Armies of Dwarfs and Elves , and Humans find themselves battling against Gobliins and Orcs at the base of the Lonley Mountain and the fight for Middle Earth begins
If you have only seen the Lord of The ring Films , before viewing this movie , you would be well advised to view the first two of the Hobbit movies , or you may be slightly confused as to what is taking place , though not required viewing , the first of the Hobbit films introduces the Dasterly Dragon Smaug who is seen destroying the human's village in a blaze of firey flames , before himself being destroyed with an improvised arrow in the opening scenes of this final Hobbit Flim , swordplay and FX abound in this fast paced film , while some plot line are predictable , others in ths film are not as much , I rate this Film a must see for those who have seen the others
