Star Trek Beyond *****

I finally got around to seeing this and I must say I really liked it, more so than anticipated, the last one (Into Darkness)  was more than a little shakey in retrospect, this one was a big improvement, definitely my favorite of the "reboot "trilogy. The action was good, at times amazing, with solid SFX.

the pace was great never a dull moment. The humor worked for the most part, each of the crew members got a fair amount of screen time ,they made sure to slow down for proper character development and the film used the splintering of the crew to create interesting pairings. They've destroyed the Enterprise a ridiculous amount of times but this was the most well done.

Kirk feels like a believable captain for the first time, Bones and Spock have true chemistry that makes their interactions memorable and funny, the end of the film, and rightly so was dedicated to the two recently passed actors Leonard Nimoy and the new Chekov's actor Anton Yelchin ( recently killed in a fluke accident with his recalled motor car).

Cast:Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pehgs, Karl Uricam, John Cho, *Anton Yelchin, Idris Elba & Sofia Boutella, the film was Directed by Justin Lim  & Written by  Simon Pegg and Doug Hung, Producers :J. J. Abrams,  Roberto Orci, Lindsey Weber and Justin Lim

I give this film the rating of a full five stars, a Must see for Trekker /Trekkies
