U.S. Landslide : Rising Death Toll In Washington State Disaster

At least eight people have been killed by a huge landslide in Norrth Western U.S. State of Washington

Rescuers pulled five bodies out from the debris on Sunday , adding to the three which had been found on Saturday

Officals say there are still a number of people registered as missing , but search teams had not hheard nor seen any signs of survivors

The 177 foot deep landslide destroyed 30 houses near the town of Oso , not far from Seattle , rescue teams have only just  been able to properly search the site , it had been deemed too dangerous to access the worst affected areas on Saturday

The landslliide cut off the city oof darrington and clogged the North Forkk of the Stillaguamish River , promptingfears of severe flooding downstream , if the build up of water behind the debris were to break through suddenly
