6.9 Quake Hits Off Hombolt Coast , West Of Eureka

March 9th 2014 9:18 p.m. P.S.T. off the coast of Northern California , Just fifty miles West of Eureka and about two hundred and eighty miles north of the city of San Francisco a magntude 6.9 Earthquake hit , while some people in the state felt nothing , others felt the strong Quake , likening it to the jolts felt in Sept. of 1989 during the Major 7.1 Quake which hit then , destroying a Major overpass and Bay Area Bridge , which has only this past year been replaced, 

This latest Quake was believed to be centered off the Coast and about four miles below the waters of the Pacific and under the Plate , not long afterwards an on shore Aftershock of Magntude 4.6 was also reported

However No tsunami warning has been issued or posted , and it is expected that there shall be more aftershocks in the comming hours and probably days
